Two years ago today, on March 29, 2008, I married this handsom guy.

And I could not imagine being happier.

I love you Ben. Excited about many many more years and memories with you. I'm blessed to know you, and even more blessed to be loved by you. You're the best person I know. You've got me forever.

Spring

This morning the lady giving me my coffee told me i look like spring personified. that made me happy.

I am so ready. bring it on. I want to do this all day long.

2 (+1=3) Things I Love Around My Home

I am playing along with Kassi over at Bacwoods Fern today and sharing two things I love around my home....except I'm cheating and sharing 3 because i can't decide today. So there!

Drum roll please...

#1: This window. Its from my house that I grew up in. It was a little downtown bungalow and OBVIOUSLY it needed the windows to be replaced. This guy here was also in our wedding. I love it. such history.

#2: our coffee table we scored from Hollywood Reruns. Same place we get our yellow chair. $30. great shape. nice finish (minus a couple tiny bite marks from Tangle).

#3: This little yellow apron thirfted by the lovely Lauren and delivered to moi as a gift. I love it the little half aprons. so dainty! Brings me joy when cleaning dirty dishes...something that is almost impossible :-)

"M" is for Monday...and Monogram

This past weekend I went to my friends Katie and Dan's wedding. I met Katie at OSU and loved her instantly, you can't possibly NOT love her instantly. Anyway, she is super creative and spunky and unique in every way. Needless to say I was excited to see what was in store for her wedding. Besides the fact that she is naturally creative, she has spent some time working at anthropologie and now is a product assistant at Keen Footwear...so I knew we would be in store for some cuteness.

Other than one of the most adorable weddings I've been to in a while, the weekend was full of reuniting with old friends, lots and lots of deep house cleaning (i mean scrubbing bathroom floors and ceilings with a toothbrush), a little sunshine, a cute date, homemade BBQ chicken pizza, and self-serve frozen yogurt adventures with family.

Now its back to the grind. Trying out four ten-hour days this week so i can have a day off by myself in the middle of the week to get things done around the house. We'll see if i make it through! It's spirit week at the retirement home where I work and today is slipper day...so i am feelin' cozy and warm today. Should make it a little easier :-)

Fill in the Blank

It's Friday! I almost forgot!

Today i told my co-worker "i wish it was Friday".

Boy was I happy when she told me it actually is!

1. The best day ever was the day I decided to stop being stupid and hurting other people and to start trusting Jesus.



2. My favorite meal of the day is breakfast because i always have such an appetite at breakfast, and it makes me feel good, the idea that im fueling my boddy for the rest of the day. Plus i think having breakfast in your pj's with your hubby and puppy is just cute.

3. This weekend will be full of office decorating, laundry, weddings, cleaning, and hopefully some rest.


4. Never in my life have I had a bloody nose. I mean a natural one, unless you count Stephen (my big bro) kicking me in the nose when we were playing power rangers when we were kids.


5. The only thing better than shopping is shopping by myself with no time limit or budget...actually its not fair for me to say that, since that has never happened in my life...but i can imagine it would be simply amazing . yes?


6. I could really do with some napping by a river or something peaceful like that.



7. The most recent thing I bought myself was a few versitile things from Forever21. cheap and cheerful. A cute gray dress to dress up or down for work or play, a light purple flowey skirt (for spring, of course), a white tank with little fluffy ruffles at the neck, and a high waisted light gray skirt.

I Declare Today.....

Pet Peeves anyone? In the hopes of not sounding like a Negative Nancy, but in the hope of also finding some common ground and some laughs on things that just BUG people other than myself...I declare today...

*things that bug the poop out of me*

and

*things that make me so happy i could pee*

...Day.

(potty talk still makes me laugh, OK?)

k here we go:

Things that Bug the Poop Out of Me:

1: loud chewing. I want to throw up when I hear people
chewing their food. Really any noises that come from the head. Chewing,
sniffing, snorting, hacking, smacking...and the like.

....

2: being hot while getting ready in the morning. I FREAK
out in the summer when I'm trying to get dressed and my hair is sticking to my
face, or my clothes stick to me when i'm trying to get dressed...kinda like when you
have just put lotion on and you try and put on jeans. i HATE
that!

....

3: waking up twenty minutes before your alarm is going to
go off and having no choice but to get out of bed because otherwise you will pee
your pants.

....

4: bending over with your purse on your shoulder and it
flopping down and hitting you in the head and taking all your hair with it. Then
standing up and looking like you just ran a marathon, sweating and panting and
hair all stuck to your lip gloss.

....

5: getting home from the grocery store and realizing you
forgot to buy the one thing you went to pick up.

....

6: fake English accents. AAH!

....

7: going to the bathroom at a restaurant or store, and
washing your hands, leaning up against the counter and having a huge water spot
right on your crotch so it looks like you didn't make it to the potty in
time.

....

8: people giving you a hard time about not hanging out with
them enough when they never call you or make an effort either...they are just
mad because you don't spend your whole life thinking about them. That bugs
me.

Okay i think that's enough for the day. Now on to things that make me smile no matter whats going on.

1: babies laughing and head bobbing.

3: talking in funny voices with Ben in the
car.

4: walking into a clean house.

5: being able to find both shoes right when i need
them.

6: getting to the gym at 5:04pm and there actually being a
treadmill open with a little light from heaven shining down on it just for
me.

7: making dinner and hearing Ben audibly applaud it with oooos and aaaws with his mouth
full.

....

8: A tried puppy dog laying on my lap.

....

9: kissing my hubby. (aaaaw)

....

10: hand sanitizer.

....

11: freshly shaved legs. (once in a blue
moon)

12: my hair stylist Bekah's head massages with tea tree oil. instant relaxation.

13: a whole night of fun and mischief with my bestie, Miss Annalore.

So, i hope you're not depressed from reading about all the things that bug me. Now that i think of it, its probably a little silly to think you want to know all that. But maybe you can relate to either the pet peeves or the happy things?

Reasons I love My Life #4

.quiet times.

My life is busy. It has been busy since I was a little kid and we lived next door to the church where my dad was a pastor. Since I can remember, I have been filling my plate with tons of things, and having to play catch-up way too often. Ben and I are really making a concious effort to slow down our life. Some of my most favorite and cherished moments are quiet times. A couple weeks ago I was really sick and home from work for three days. Not so fun to have the funky sickness, but really amazing to have three fulls days off peace and quiet at home with me and my doggy, my bible, a cup of coffee, Amelia and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and crafts.

Having quiet times is one of my favorite things to experience in life.

Just For Fun...

Here's a little "getting to know you" action for the day.

1. Are you more of a talker or a listener?

listener...but it depends on who I'm with. I'm definitely an internal processor, i don't feel the need to talk out my decisions or options when forming an opinion on something...but i do like to talk, thats for sure..with the right people. Usually though, i can tell when someone just needs to be listened to, and i have no problem doing that.

2. Bra. Underwire or wireless?

who really needs or wants to know that about me? probably nobody. goodness.

3. I wish I was.....?

a little bit taller, wish i was a baller...

just kidding. I wish i was in disney land right now. dancing with Princess Jasmine.

I also wish i was just a little more disciplined about working out. I can never seem to get into a good routine. It always seems like such a chore. I guess thats why its called WORKING out?

4. The Academy Awards are (were) on tonight (Sunday night)..will (did) you watch?

nope. Don't care.

5. Do you put your deodorant on before or after you get dressed?

usually after. i need to focus on getting dressed first because it usually takes the longest.

6. Would you rather do the dishes or clean toilets?

clean toilets HANDS DOWN. I always say i would rather change a poopy diaper than do the dishes. Old wet crusty smelly food makes me want to barf.

7. How much did you weigh at birth?

I have no idea.

8. If you could only buy one thing for the Spring/Summer season..what would it be?

anything? an old school jeep. obviously. :-)

Sunshine On My Shoulders...la la la

I love me some Oregon sunshine!

The weekend here in good 'ol Oregon was pretty beautiful. Saturday was super warm and sunny and it made me want spring to be in full swing oh-so-badly.

But I must be patient...I guess I don't really have a choice since now its supposed to get gloomy and freezing cold..possibly even snow on Tuesday morning. whaaat? Oh Oregon and its random March snow episodes. Two years ago it snowed and hailed on our wedding day..March 29th. Random! Some of our friends are getting married this coming weekend..I'm praying it it bright and beautiful for their big day! Here is their cutest-invitation-ever.

So, since the sun was out for a little while this weeked, we got to put our crazy crazy animal out in the backyard. Annnnd he proceeded to absolutely go insane and destroy it. Sorry landloards...you now have trenches all over your backyard. But nonetheless, it was still nice to be able to stick him back there for a whole day and let him run out some energy.

Happy Wednesday Favorites

This week has been out to a great start!

Yesterday I was greeted by Lauren's lovely smile at work as she dropped of my giveaway winnings...which I will post all about tomorrow. I love everything she picked out, but it was even better to get to see her after so long and chat for a bit! Thanks Lauren, you're adorable and the sweetest!

Sorry for my lack of posting. I will say I have been a pretty busy gal! But now it's hump day, and after today I am closer to the weekend than I am to Monday morning...so that is something to smile about :-).

In hopes of getting through this day quickly with lots of joyfulness, I am posting some of my favorite pictures of my happiest memories from my most joyful day of all...our wedding.
