Helpful Mama's Hints

Who hates crusty pots and pans!?

I loathe and detest doing dishes. Honestly, I would rather clean a poopy diaper. I think the smell of old food soaking in water and flaking off on your hands and getting under your nails and splashing up on your shirt is the nastiest thing ever. BUT...once upon a time I was a nanny for the bestest family in the whole world, and my dear friend Lindy (the boys smart mama) taught me a fantastic trick for cleaning crusty dishes.

(Lindy, aka super mom)

By the way, Lindy is super savvy in most areas.

She's not like most moms, shes a cool mom.

First person to tell me what thats from gets a high five. Check her and hubby Chris' family biz and invention (yes, invention) out here!

Anyhoo, she taught me this little trick.

Crusty pan

Dish soap

(like my homemade dispenser?)

one dryer sheet

hot water and overnight soakage

**Sparkling Pot**

No scrubbing required. Seriously. This is miraculous.

Thank you, Lindy!

I want to hear everyone's tricks around the house!

  1. that is brilliant! My grandma taught me to (while the burner is still hot) pour enough water to cover the bottom of the pan (works better for pans than pots) and put it back on the stove. let it boil a bit and then use a spatula to gently scrape off the crusty-crusts! I guess my idea is if you want to load it in the dishwasher faster, but overnight works too and you don't have to put it in the dishwasher! Brilliant! Thanks for sharing!

  2. this is genius! i'm going to have to buy dryer sheets just for his purpose because i never buy them...i always use liquid softener.

oh...and that quote is from "mean girls" right?

p.s. your new header is so cute!

  3. high five Lauren, its from mean girls. love that movie.

  4. :). just watched it with casey a few weeks ago, so it's still fresh in my mind.
